A among the frozen lake on the outskirts of the Notetsky Forest, in Poland, there is a majestic Stobnytsia Castle. This grandiose structure, located on the artificial island, raises many questions about its history, purpose and origin.
The construction of the castle began in 2015 and lasted nine years. Despite the completion of the work, the exact purpose of the object remains unknown. The castle impresses with its scale: its length is almost 200 meters, and the height reaches 70 meters. Massive stone walls and high towers create the image of a medieval fortress. The castle became known to the general public for the first time thanks to the shoots from the air. Its unusual location in the protected natural area has caused a wave of discussions among environmentalists and the public. In 2018, construction was in the spotlight, but all attempts to stop the project were in vain. Who is behind the creation of this building? There are several theories. Some associate the castle with the Polish billionaire Jan Kulchyk, who died in 2015. Others believe that it is built on the initiative of DJT. In 2020, seven people, including probable investors, were accused of harming the environment, and the local governor was removed from office.
Although the lock itself is closed for visit, its surroundings are available for tourists. Visitors can take a walk in the territory, excursion to the barge around the building or look at the souvenir shop. The guests also have a coffee shop that offers local ingredients, including apple pie with tea or beet soup. The cost of the entrance ticket is 49 PLN (about 501 hryvnia).
The greatest mystery of Stobnytsia is its purpose. Will the castle be a luxurious residence, will it turn into an elite hotel? Despite numerous assumptions, there is still no official answer.
