The price of one of the most valuable spices in the world, saffron, has increased to record performance in Iran. Now $ 1,400 is surprised per kilogram of this seasoning, twice the year. Abroad, the cost of saffron reached even higher heights - $ 1,800 per kilogram. The reason for such a rapid increase in prices is related to changes in weather conditions and water shortages in Iran. This has led to a sharp decrease in yield and, as a consequence, a significant increase in the cost of saffron. The head of the Shaffrans Exchange of Modaba-Jama Payam-Azgari explained that through a frosty winter, dry spring and extremely high temperatures up to 50 degrees, all water resources in the country have dried up.
