As early as July 1, 2025, new requirements for mandatory technical control of vehicles are entered into force in Ukraine. The main innovation is mandatory photo and video recording of the examination procedure.
Each inspection point will have to have at least two cameras that fix the entire car check process. In cases where this is not enough for full control, additional cameras are installed. The purpose of the change is to combat fictitious tests and to harmonize standards with European standards.
Who is obliged to pass inspection from July 1: cars and trailers used for commercial purposes and are operated for over 2 years. Trucks up to 3.5 tons and their trailers if they are more than 2 years old. Trucks over 3.5 tons, taxi and their trailers - regardless of age. Buses and transportation transporting dangerous goods. Fine: for driving a car without current inspection - 340 UAH. For technical control stations that violated the requirements - about 1 400 UAH.
The National Police denied rumors about new penalties for speeding, telephone calling or improper parking. These rules do not take effect from July 1, and the aforementioned changes apply solely to inspection.
