Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmigal met with the delegation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), headed by the deputy of the Chairman of the European Department of the Fund, UMA Ramakrishnan to discuss further cooperation and preparation for the next IMF mission in Ukraine. One of the important topics of the meeting was to discuss the success of the latest EFF program and further steps under this program.
Shmigal thanked the IMF team for their effective work under the EFF program, which allowed Ukraine to receive $ 400 million of the next tranche. The Prime Minister also stressed the importance of the IMF participation in the meeting of the Ukrainian Donor Platform, which took place the day before. At this event, the platform participants expressed their unchanged support to Ukraine, which is an important element in the process of economic restoration of the country.
"We are grateful to the IMF team for the support of Ukraine and for the positive results that we have received under the EFF program. This allows us to continue economic reforms that are critical for the country's development," Denis Shmigal said after the meeting.
According to the Prime Minister, more than $ 10 billion has received more than $ 10 billion within the EFF program. These funds not only help stabilize the economic situation in Ukraine, but also support the government's reform initiatives in areas such as the fight against corruption, decentralization and improvement of financial policy.
The meeting also discussed the issue of future steps under the EFF program, including preparing for the next IMF mission, which should help Ukraine in implementing further reforms and ensuring economic stability.
Prime Minister Shmigal stressed that Ukraine is ready to continue cooperation with international financial institutions and continue to fulfill the obligations stipulated by international agreements. The Government of Ukraine sees in the support of the IMF an important tool for the implementation of economic reforms necessary for ensuring the stable development of the country in war.
