Italy northwest was injured by storm winds and heavy rainfall that caused flooding, landslides and mudflows. The local authorities have declared an evacuation of a number of settlements.
The bad weather caused significant damage to the autonomous region Valle D'Aost and Piedmont. According to Ansa, at least 300 people from the valleys were involved in the commune (Valle D'Aost) for evacuation. On June 30, the mayor of Franco Aller said that approximately the same number of citizens would have to be saved, since the only road to the isolated area was damaged.
Much of the horse was left without water. "The aqueduk was demolished by a flow of water. We plan to repair," Franco Aller said. In the commune, Ison (Valle D'Aost), the river spilled between the settlements of Pav and Flearan, forcing some residents to climb to the upper floors of buildings to avoid the flood.
In the resort Chervinia (Valle D'Aost), the losses were called huge. Water flows filled the warehouses of many stores, garages and several residential buildings, causing losses of millions of euros.
In the Piedmont region, the bad weather damaged the bridges and flooded isolated valleys. About thirty tourists were stuck in shelters at the foot of Monte Roza mountain range.
Piedmont Alberto Chico Governor did not rule out a state of emergency in case of deterioration.
It should be noted that the weather covered North Italy on Saturday, June 29. On June 30, forecasters warned that thunderstorms and strong winds would move in the northeast.
