Ukraine continues to look for resources to support citizens who have lost their housing as a result of war, but the state's financial capabilities are limited. The chairman of the "Servant of the People" party, Elena Shuliak, said that today the state has set the maximum amount of payments under the Equation program at the level of UAH 500 thousand for houses and UAH 350 thousand for apartments.
Applications for almost UAH 8 billion have already been agreed, which will receive more than 73 thousand families for repairing their damaged homes. In addition, more than 11 thousand certificates totaling UAH 17.2 billion were issued for a fully destroyed housing, where the average amount of payments reaches UAH 1.6 million.
Due to the fact that the budget project for 2025 is not provided for the continuation of the program, there is a risk that payments may be suspended. In order to avoid this, Shuliak proposed to allocate 10 billion hryvnias for "Equation", while the Ministry of Restoration of Ukraine previously asked for more than 40 billion. Budget negotiations are currently underway, and deputies are making efforts to ensure the further functioning of the program.
