Sweden expands supplies of ammunition to Ukraine

The Swedish authorities have concluded an agreement with the ammunition manufacturer, Nammo (Nordic Ammunition Company), to expand the production capacity of artillery ammunition in their territory for further delivery to Ukraine. This was reported by the Department of Defense (FMV) of Sweden on Saturday, January 13.

According to the Agreement, supported by the FMV weapons direction, Jonas Lotsne, production capacity will be expanded for the manufacture of 155 mm artillery shells. The Agreement will also reduce the timing of the supply of ammunition to Ukraine, improving the possibility of support and providing more reliable delivery of artillery ammunition in the long run.

This initiative is the third stage of comprehensive measures to increase the production of artillery ammunition and support Ukraine. Nordic Ammunition Company is a joint venture

Earlier, Sweden Defense Minister Paul Johnson noted the need to purchase artillery ammunition for Ukraine and production at greater factories.

It is also worth noting that Denmark and Sweden have agreed to purchase additional CV90 infantry fighting vehicles for Ukraine. The decision to allocate a financial contribution will be made by Denmark, and Sweden will support these purchases. Both countries plan to use their industrial potential to supply new CV90 to Ukraine.

In addition, Sweden announced the allocation of humanitarian aid for Ukraine worth 1.4 billion crowns. The Swedish Army commander expressed expectations of political decisions on Gripen fighters, which may be available to Ukraine with F-16 aircraft.
