Switzerland has announced new measures that simplify employment for Ukrainian refugees in the country with humanitarian status. Switzerland Federal Council reported that citizens of Ukraine with the security status of S would no longer need permission to work in different cantons, which often required additional paid procedures.
In accordance with the new rules, unemployed Ukrainians who have the protection status of S are obliged to register with state employment agencies and participate in programs for professional integration or reintegration. This will allow them to adapt to a new life in Switzerland and find a job according to their skills.
One of the important innovations is the opportunity for Ukrainians to change their place of residence without the need to obtain special permission from local authorities. Previously, this procedure was complex and was often accompanied by bureaucratic obstacles.
The Federal Council also pledged to facilitate access to the labor market for third countries who have been trained in Switzerland, starting consultations on changing the relevant legislation.
