In his New Year's speech, President Xi Jinping emphasized that China's "Reflection" with Taiwan is inevitable. He stressed that the relationship between people on both sides of the Taiwanese Strait is an integral part of Chinese history and culture.
"People on both sides of the Taiwanese Strait are one family. No one can break our family ties, and no one can stop the historical trend of national reunification," Xi Jinping said.
It is worth noting that the president of China used such rhetoric in his New Year's speech. He then noted that "people on both sides should be associated with a common goal and share the glory of the Renaissance of the Chinese nation."
Against this background, Taiwan continues to strengthen his defense capability. The United States of America has already put Taiwan 38 Abrams combat tanks - the first new tanks over the last 30 years. In addition, Taiwan has signed agreements with the US government to supply 1000 shock drones of Aerovironment and Anduril, which will significantly enhance the military capabilities of the island.
These steps demonstrate the growing support of Taiwan from the United States, which causes tensions between Washington and Beijing. China has repeatedly stated that Taiwan was considering as part of its territory and opposes any military assistance to the island by other countries.
