The former associate of the fugitive President Viktor Yanukovych Raisa Bogatyryov tries to achieve his pension through the Ukrainian court. Now her case is being considered by the Volyn District Administrative Court.
Raisa Bogatyryova, who is now 72 years old, has been suing for several years with the Pension Fund of Ukraine demanding to increase the amount of her pension. At the same time, the Pension Fund insists that the pension is not recalculated. In particular, Bogatyryova requires that her pension be translated according to the salary of the People's Deputy who has changed. The lawyer of the ex-Minister of Health Yevgeny Pomsky noted that her claim to the Pension Fund was rejected after she applied on the basis of a certificate of salary of the People's Deputy.
Bogatyryova filed the first claim in 2021 to the capital administrative court, but then the court was liquidated. Her case was automatically transferred to the Volyn court. As of now, she receives a pension of 16.5 thousand hryvnias, but wants to increase it to more than 20 thousand hryvnias.
During his stay as a Ministers of Health, Bogatyryov became known because of a number of scandals, in particular, related to the deriban of budgetary funds, the purchase of medicines and vaccines. The investigation accused her of stealing UAH 6 million, as well as the abuse of budgetary funds.
After the Revolution of Dignity, Bogatyryov fled from Ukraine and was hiding in Moldova, Russia and Crimea for several years. She returned to Ukraine only in 2019, when the criminal case was closed and was immediately detained at the entrance to the country. Later, her case was closed, and she continued her activity, judging by numerous lawsuits.
During his office, Bogatyryov enriched with his family for UAH 1.26 billion, but the courts did not see the crime. In 2021, her attorneys also defended the right to use the state cottage in Koncha Zaspa. Now they continue to fight for their pension for their clients.
Lawyers believe that Bogatyryova's chances of success in court are quite high, as other deputies have already achieved similar recalculations. For example, a former deputy Sergei Kivalov increased his pension to UAH 246,000 a month through the court, and the ex-chairman of the Constitutional Court Natalia Shaptala received a record pension of UAH 396 thousand.
