Judge of the Brovarsky City Court of Kyiv Oblast Tatiana Vasylenko, who considered the case of the accused in the commission of a drunken accident ex-head of the Brovarsky RVA Volodymyr Maybozhenko, earlier stood in defense of the accused of the car of journalists "Scheme: corruption in details."

The former official was awarded UAH 34,000 in a fine and deprived for three years the right to drive a car. Maybozhenko is also obliged to pay UAH 31,432 of expenses for expertise and other court costs.
The Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office stated that this sentence would be challenged.
At the same time, in June 2021, the court of Deatiana Vasilenko stood in defense of Cyril Barikhashvili, who set fire to the editorial car of journalists-investigators of the Scheme project, Jacobi “due to the violation of the terms of continuation of the pre-trial investigation”, which categorically disagreed.
The situation with the closure of the case on the arson of the car of journalists was commented by the head of the legal direction of the Institute of Development of the Regional Press Oksana Maksimenyuk: “In making the decision to close the proceedings, the court approached the consideration of the issue only formally and thus removed the responsibility in terms of consideration of the case. The court decided to go the easiest way and close the proceedings in the case, using a formal basis, which, moreover, is not unambiguous, since there are different readings of this paragraph of the Criminal Procedure Code. The court did not fulfill its main function, and did not conduct a judicial investigation into accounting, ”the lawyer said.
