On December 30, 2024, Ukraine has canceled the power outage of electricity for household consumers. This decision concerned Kyiv and several regions, including Lviv, Volyn, Poltava, Ivano-Frankivsk and Vinnytsia. Ukrenergo NEP reported no restrictions on electricity consumption for households in these regions.
The Yasno energy supplier portal, which serves Kiev, states that the shutdown is not currently used. "There are no restrictions on Ukrenergo, so the schedules of shutdowns are not used," - the message reads. This means that most household consumers in these regions will be able to consume electricity without any restrictions. However, in case of possible peak loads, energy companies reserve the right to return to the schedules of shutdowns for household consumers. Thus, the report of NEC Ukrenergo emphasizes that the shutdown of light per hour of peak consumption can be applied to households, if the situation on the energy network requires it. However, not all regions have felt stability in the supply of electricity. In the Khmelnytsky region, 39 settlements were disconnected due to bad weather. Energy are actively working to restore electricity supply. It is also important to note that industrial consumers, unlike domestic, continue to remain under the action of shutdown schedules, which can be applied from 8:00 to 19:00.
Cancellation of shutdown schedules is a positive news for many Ukrainians who have experienced numerous shutdowns in previous months due to difficult weather conditions and reducing energy capacity. However, energy does not exclude that in the case of a sharp increase in consumption or worsening weather conditions, shutdowns can return, in particular during the hours of the highest loads.
