Energy Minister of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko reported that by the end of the heating season, Ukrainians will continue to pay for electricity at current tariffs, which make up 2.64 hryvnias for kilowatt-hour. He stressed that during the 2023/24 heating season there is no increase in tariffs for the population. The decision applies to all consumers and does not depend on the amount of electricity consumption. While in the country there has already been an increase in the cost of housing and communal services, the increase in electricity tariffs is not expected at least by the end of the heating season.
According to the State Statistics Service, for the last year, tariffs for housing and communal services have increased by 13%, and electricity prices increased by 69.7%. Nevertheless, the minister noted that electricity tariffs remain permanent until the end of the heating season.
