The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the bill "On Vocational Education", which aims to substantially reform the system of vocational education. In particular, the number of types of establishments is reduced from 18 to two: professional colleges and training centers. This change should make the education system more flexible and adapted to the needs of the labor market.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmigal announced the adoption of the bill during a government meeting, which took place on March 21. According to him, the reform will allow students to have a better education, as well as simplify the procedures for managing vocational education institutions.
- Reduction of types of establishments. Currently, there are 18 different types of vocational education institutions in Ukraine. There are only two to leave: professional colleges and training centers. This will simplify the management of the education system and increase its effectiveness.
- New status for education applicants. After the reform is implemented, students will receive students or cadets. This will allow you to more clearly define their rights and responsibilities, as well as increase their level of preparation.
- Flexible learning system. The new approach involves a modular structure of educational programs that allows you to obtain professional qualification under short -term programs. This is especially true for those who seek to quickly acquire practical skills and enter the labor market.
- Financial autonomy of institutions. Vocational education institutions will get more opportunities for self -management. This includes the right to approve staffing paintings, to move away from the tariff grid and to cooperate with business through joint investment projects.
- Collaboration with business. The reform is aimed at establishing close cooperation between educational institutions and enterprises. This will better prepare graduates for labor market requirements and increase young people's employment.
The Prime Minister reported that about 100 modern workshops in vocational works are already equipped in Ukraine. This year, it is planned to be updated up to hundreds of educational institutions, for which the state budget provides over UAH 500 million. Thus, the government seeks to create conditions for quality education that will meet the needs of the modern labor market.
