Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fitzo expressed against Ukraine's membership in NATO , announcing this position during a future meeting with the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmigal. Fitzo noted that, in his opinion, Ukraine's accession to NATO could lead to the Third World War.
Fitzo also reported that Slovakia would not provide Ukraine with any weapons, but expressed the possibility of commercial deliveries. The Prime Minister emphasized that he does not like the policy of the United States in Ukraine and believes that the country is not sovereign, but is under the total influence of the United States.
With regard to Ukraine's accession to the EU , Fitzo expressed support for this decision, but noted that Ukraine should fulfill the conditions. He also repeated his position on the absence of a conflict resolution in Ukraine, arguing that Ukraine would probably have to give part of its territory.
These statements have caused a certain wave of indignation and ambiguity in Ukraine , as they impress the principles of sovereignty and the right to choose the path of development of the country. Relations between Ukraine and Slovakia can adversely affect diplomatic efforts and cooperation between countries.
