The co-founder of the Techiia IT holding is under suspicion of fraud for $110 million

One of the co-founders of the Techiia IT holding, Oleg Krot, faced accusations of illegally seizing the funds of a foreign investor. According to information provided by the media, the virtual assets of the Mole were seized. The case is related to his alleged misappropriation of $35 million in cryptocurrency, which was presented as an investment in the construction of a hotel complex.

According to the case data, Krot and his colleague, co-owner of the IT holding Techiia, cooperated with a Brazilian citizen named Carlos Fuziama, who in 2017 registered the company "Mining Express" with the aim of opening a data center. Between 2017 and 2021, Krot allegedly convinced Fuziama to invest in several projects, including the construction of data centers, a hotel complex with a casino in Kyiv, an online betting service and the purchase of cryptocurrency mining equipment.

According to information provided by Antikor, Krot became the recipient and manager of Fuzia's funds, creating a fictitious financial plan and regularly receiving significant amounts of cryptocurrency into his e-wallet. According to the investigation, the financial plan was not implemented, and the cryptocurrency funds appropriated by Krot were not returned to the investor.

The court decision led to the seizure of Oleg Krot's virtual assets, and he was charged with fraud on a particularly large scale. The total amount of funds, which he allegedly took possession of under the pretext of investments, is estimated at approximately $110 million. Journalists contacted IT holding Techiia for comments, but did not receive a response at the time of publication.
