Singer Sofia Rotaru was in danger of losing her villa in Crimea

The occupiers plan to take revenge on the singer for supporting the Armed Forces during the war in Ukraine. The non-governmental organization "Veterans of Russia" put forward an initiative to turn Sofia Rotaru's villa in Crimea into a sanatorium, which became known through Russian Telegram channels.

Located in Yalta, this villa, according to the media, is valued at 2 billion rubles. The public organization has already applied to the Prosecutor General's Office with a request to nationalize this real estate in order to create a military hospital and sanatorium for Russian soldiers fighting on the territory of Ukraine.

This is not the first time that Sofia Rotaru's property has become an object of public discussion. Earlier, her mansion was highlighted in the context of various legal disputes.

The singer bought this villa about 30 years ago at an auction. This 19th-century house is registered as a national cultural heritage site and was purchased by Rotar for a symbolic sum of $500.

Sofia Rotaru, a famous pop singer, performed both in Ukraine and in Russia. After the beginning of ATO and the annexation of Crimea in 2014, she supported Ukraine and condemned the war.
