In December this year, Ukraine will receive all 14 ordered complexes of Vampire drones from the United States of America. This was reported by the US Naval Forces Command.
The US confirms the completion of Vampire complexes in December 2023. These systems have been designed to detect and intercept drones.
"We have put the first four systems in only six months, using an innovative contract strategy and working hard to keep up with the rapid development of the system," said Kevin Raspet, Deputy Head of Foreign Sales Program.
The new Vampire party, which will come in the coming weeks, will also have the first APKWS missiles with a contactless detonator.
Vampire weapons:
Vampire complexes to combat drones are relatively new means. They were first tested in 2021. The mobile anti-aircraft complex is equipped with an optical-electronic Wescam MX-10-10-electronic system with thermal imaging and television chambers.
Vampire is equipped with a launcher and 70 mm APKWS rockets with laser guidance. The complex is portable and can be installed on various vehicles, including SUVs. The part of the Vampire transmitted to Ukraine will be installed on the chassis of the American multi -purpose SUV "Hamvi".
The first Vampire complexes were included in the US military package for Ukraine in July 2023, and the information about their number was not disclosed. In September, the United States reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine were already using these complexes.
