After the last launch of the intercontinental ballistic missile by North Korea, the United States raised their B-1B strategic bomber into the air. Participation in the exercises that took place with the fighters of South Korea and Japan was announced to strengthen the ability of countries to respond to North Korean nuclear and rocket threats.
According to the Joint Committee of South Korea headquarters (JCS), tripartite training included the participation of South Korean F-15K fighters, American F-16 and Japanese F-2 fighters. The JCS statement also stresses that these exercises had to demonstrate the firm determination of three countries in response to any potential threats, such as the launch of solid fuel intercontinental ballistic missiles in North Korea.
There are currently no details about the number of B-1B bombers who participated in these exercises.
