Russia prepares "information operations" to influence public opinion against Ukraine before the expected elections in Europe in 2024. The statement was made by Jamie Rubin, the head of the US State Department misinformation department.
This year, dozens of countries will choose new leaders, including the United Kingdom, Austria, Georgia, and elections to the European Parliament in June.
Jamie Rubin, a special messenger and coordinator of the Global Interaction Center (GEC), reported that Russia and China are actively working on the spread of state propaganda through independent media, hiding its true source.
"Russia hopes that the number of elections in Europe can change what was a wonderful coalition and disciplined opposition to its war. We believe that the Russians will carry out information operations throughout Europe to try to change the idea of Ukraine during this election season," Rubin said.
The Center for Global Interaction, which was instructed to expose foreign misinformation campaigns, revealed the spread of Russian propaganda and misinformation in Latin America in the media last year. Russia has chosen these accusations as unjustified.
In intelligence, which has been declassified and sent to more than 100 governments of the world in 2023, it is said that Russia uses spies, social networks and Russian state media to undermine society in the honesty of the democratic elections.
