The United States will give Taiwan the latest weapons, not "old", as is happening with supplies for Ukraine. This was stated by the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives of the US Congress Michael McCol during a press conference.
He arrived in Taiwan as part of a two -party delegation of Congress, where he negotiated with the recently elected President Lai Pinde (right in the photo).
“Unlike Ukraine, I am asked a lot of questions about this, it should not be a ground war. This is mostly battle at sea. Taiwan, unlike Ukraine, will receive new weapons systems, not old, and especially old Russian weapons. This will be a new stock that will be set by Taiwan. This, by the way, will be our latest technologies, ”McCol said.
He added that "the United States will continue to support our faithful partner and will work on maintaining the status quo in the Taiwanese Strait."
Recall that last week China began military training around Taiwan. They are probably related to the recent inauguration of President Taiwan, who is called a "separatist" in China.
