The United States of America approved the sale of Estonia of the Javelin Anti -Tank Missile Missile Complexes totaling almost $ 300 million. The relevant agreement was approved by the US State Department, the US Department of Defense Cooperation and Security (DSCA) reported.
According to the official report, the Estonia Government has requested the purchase of 800 FGM-148F missiles Javelin, as well as 72 light command and high-power plants Javelin (LCLU). The kit will also include spare parts, tools, technical equipment, as well as staff training and technical support.
DSCA emphasized that the supply of modern weapons will significantly increase the defense capability of Estonia. "This will improve the country's ability to resist current and future threats, provide reliable restraint potential and will allow to take an active part in NATO operations," the statement said.
The US defense agency emphasized that the contract will also promote the national and territorial security of Estonia, as well as increased cooperation with the US and Union forces.
