The US has completed the next stage of new Dark Eagle hypersonic missiles that demonstrated their capabilities in field tests. This missile, developed by Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman, has a range of up to 3000 km and a speed exceeding 22 thousand kilometers per hour. During the tests, the rocket complex demonstrated high integration with other combat units and command and management systems.
In addition to recent, Dark Eagle has already passed other tests, including comprehensive training this year at the Pacific rocket training ground in Kauai, Hawaii. Current tests have shown that the complex can integrate with other combat units, as well as command and management systems for long periods of time.
There were also details about the starting installation itself. The Dark Eagle Eagle Eagle-Earth rocket was developed by Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman and is designed to suppress the enemy's fire on a long range and destroy important goals up to 3000 km.
The system includes a mobile launcher with two containers, each contains a rocket accelerator. The rocket pushes the planning body to a great height from which it flies to its goal under control, reaching a stunning maximum speed of 17 makhi!
That is, the speed of the "dark eagle" exceeds 22 thousand kilometers per hour, which allows, in fact, to simply fly past the air defense system, as if there were none.
