US threatened Russia with new measures

The United States has declared their readiness to impose new sanctions against Russia if negotiations between President Donald Trump and President Vladimir Putin would not produce the desired result. White House spokeswoman Caroline Levitt said on March 17, President Trump was ready to strengthen anti -Russian sanctions if the ceasefire agreement is not reached.

"The President has already talked about it, and, of course, he is ready to do so if needed," Levitt said, emphasizing that the situation remains critical and demanding.

The words of Levitt note the importance of current negotiations between Ukraine and Russia. According to her, both countries are "on a 10-year line" to peace, which means that a peace agreement is closer than ever. However, if negotiations with Putin do not lead to positive results, the United States does not exclude the imposition of new sanctions that could increase pressure on Russia.

The statement of readiness for sanctions has become another sign that the international community continues to maintain a high level of tensions about the situation in Ukraine and the ability to reach peace through diplomatic channels. Under the terms of these negotiations, the United States hopes for a stable peaceful process, but are ready for stringent measures if the dialogue between states does not have the desired effect.
