The US State Department has expressed serious concern about the expansion of military cooperation between Russia and North Korea. Washington warns that increasing security relations between the two countries can cause new threats and destabilize the situation on the Korean Peninsula.
This was stated during a briefing by a spokesman for US State Department Matthew Miller.
Commenting on the recent visit of the Secretary of the National Security Council Sergei Shoig to Pyongyan, Miller stated that the DPRK continues to support Russia in the war against Ukraine.
We continue to be incredibly concerned about the expansion of security relations between North Korea and Russia. In particular, because of the support that North Korea continues to provide the Russian Federation to pursue its illegal war against Ukraine
The State Department spokesman also warned that in the prospect of cooperation of the DPRK and the Russian Federation can worsen the security situation in Asia.
Russia will help North Korea in a way that will eventually destabilize the situation on the Korean Peninsula
North Korea sent her foreign minister Chchwwa to the Russian Federation, which became her second trip to the key ally Kim Jong in less than a year.
