The United States of America initiated the conclusion of a new large -scale agreement with Ukraine, which would relate to cooperation in the field of rare earth metals. This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during a meeting with journalists on March 25.
According to the Head of State, the new document is the development of preliminary agreements, but this time Washington proposed to Kiev immediately a full -fledged agreement, not just a framework agreement.
"This is a big deal that reflects the vision of the US side. It is not just a framework agreement that will need to develop the main document. The United States immediately proposed a full version of the agreement, and now our party will analyze it in detail," Zelensky said.
The President emphasized that he did not have all the details of the proposed contract at present, but instructed specialists to carefully work out all the provisions of the document.
"I asked to understand this agreement normally, make an explanation of all the details and then gather and understand that it is a serious document. After revision, the agreement should be submitted to the parliament for ratification," Zelensky explained.
The head of state also assured that the agreement is not concerned with nuclear power, since the issues of nuclear power plants are not included in the document.
Rare earth metals are strategically important resources for the high -tech industry, including the production of electronics, batteries and defense equipment. The conclusion of such an agreement can significantly expand economic cooperation between Ukraine and the US, as well as promote investment in the country's mining sector.
