A wide program of vaccination of children from malaria began in Cameroon, covering 42 regions of the country. Malaria, a disease transmitted through mosquito bites, is widespread in Africa, Asia, North and South America. Ukraine is also no exception, but malaria cases in the country are the result of importing from the tropics.
Children in Cameroon will be vaccinated with one of the two new malaria vaccines who recently received approval of the World Health Organization. One of these vaccines is MOSQUIRIX from Glaxosmithkline. The software director of the vaccine development company, Aurelian Nguen, noted this moment, calling it historical, and noted that the development of the vaccine lasted 30 years.
It is also known that the second vaccine developed by the University of Oxford and approved by WHO will be available by the end of the year. It is noted that both vaccines are partially effective and require multiple administration without ensuring the full ability to stop the spread of the disease.
