Russia's stability and prospects for the future: conclusions of the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate

Cyril Budanov, Head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense, stated that the Russian Federation is currently maintaining economic sustainability, but there is hope for turning points in 2025.

Having noted the globalization of the conflict and the emergence of new processes, Budanov emphasized the need to carefully study the situation, since new factors can make significant changes in the calculations.

Having noted the territorial appetites of Russia, the head of the GUR pointed out the importance of Ukrainian efforts in the war. Budanov emphasized that based on the experience of the conflict between Russia and Japan, it is important to keep in mind the duration of territorial conflicts.

Concerning the end of the war in Ukraine, Budanov noted that it is unknown when it will end. However, he pointed to the progress of the Armed Forces and predicts that 2025 could be key for internal changes in Russia.
