NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg, said the Alliance has not intended to expand the number of member states that have access to nuclear weapons.
Answering questions about possible negotiations on expanding the joint use of nuclear weapons, Stoltenberg claims that there are no such plans for NATO.
Earlier, Polish President Andrzej Duda stated that his country is ready to consider the possibility of placing nuclear weapons in his territory as part of NATO's obligations. He also noted that the issue of nuclear weapons is discussed for some time in negotiations between Poland and the United States.
Duda stressed that if NATO Allies decide to place nuclear weapons in Poland to strengthen the safety of the Alliance's eastern flank, Poland is ready for this in its obligations as a NATO member.
