At the UN Conference on COP28 Climate Changes, G7+ and Ukraine announced the start of pure energy partnerships for sustainable restoration and reconstruction of the energy system in Ukraine. This initiative is presented in a joint statement published on the British Government website, which is attended by G7+countries, international organizations and the Government of Ukraine as members of newly created pure energy partnership.
The statement expressed a decisive condemnation of Russia's actions, which continues to attack Ukraine's energy infrastructure. Members of the G7+ coordination group express their demand to hold all those involved in these attacks and promise to continue to provide significant assistance to Ukraine to restore and stabilize the energy network.
The statement also stressed that more than 300 million euros have already been provided by the Energy Support Fund of the Energy Community to restore and protect the damaged infrastructure. In addition, the group members support the provision and purchase of technical equipment, including high -voltage vehicles and gas turbine generators.
In support of the initiative, it was also stated that at the London Recovery Conference in June 2023, the group pledged to develop a pure energy partnership to support the country's sustainable restoration and reconstruction. The COP28 has officially announced the creation of an extended partnership for net energy as a recognition of Ukraine's success in the implementation of key reforms in the energy sector and obtaining large investments from international partners in the field of pure energy.
The partnership unites the Government of Ukraine, bilateral donors, key international organizations, financial institutions and private sector representatives. Its purpose is to create a forum for coordination and exchange of knowledge aimed at supporting the restoration, reforms and involving the private sector in Ukraine's transition to pure energy. Partnership members pledged to continue to support Ukraine in its efforts on immediate, medium -term and long -term restoration and reconstruction of the energy sector.
