The court in France has declared a sentence in Marin Le Pen - the leaders of the far -right forces, deputy of the National Assembly and the European Parliament. It, together with eight accomplices, was found guilty of the wrath of 3 million euros, which were to pay for assistants, but were used instead to finance the political party. The final punishment has not yet been announced, but it is possible both imprisonment up to 10 years and a ban on participation in the election of President of France in 2027.
The court found the policy guilty of creating a "money pumping scheme" from the European Union, which operated from 2004 to 2016. In particular, European funds were used to pay for the services of a personal guardian of her father and assistants who did not work for the European Parliament but engaged in party activities in France. The French prosecutor's office demanded for Le Pen two years of prison and a five -year ban on political activity, but the court may also sue - up to 10 years in prison. On March 31, the judge officially forbade Le Pen to engage in politics, although the prohibition will be announced later. Le Pen herself called the sentence "political persecution." She stated that in this way the French authorities were trying to deprive millions of political representation voters. The case included at least four persons who received a salary from the European Parliament's budget, although Nasravdi worked not on him, but personally on Le Pen and her party "National Association". Among them is her security guard, secretary, graphic designer and the head of the device. Le Pen's political career went up after the parliamentary elections in September 2024, where her party was leading for some time. It was then that the Kremlin declared his interest in events in France, and Le Pen herself repeated the Russian narrative about Crimea in 2023, calling him "donated to Ukraine".
The court announced by the court may have far -reaching political consequences. If Le Pen loses the right to run in the 2027 presidential election, it will change the schedule of power in the French political arena and can play the current president. In addition, it can undermine the position of far -right in France on the eve of regular parliamentary race.
