Foreign Minister of Ukraine Andriy Sibiga stated that the Kursk operation, which has been conducting the Ukrainian forces for six months, demonstrated the weakness of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. He reported this on Thursday, February 6.
“Today it is six months old since the Kursk operation has found Putin's weakness. He tried to destroy Ukraine in a few days, but a few years later the war goes in Russia, ”the Foreign Minister said.
Sibiga stressed that the main conclusions that the world should take out of this operation is not to be afraid of Putin and to believe in Ukraine's ability to win.
In his address, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded its participants in the occasion of the six months. In particular, two servicemen received the title of Hero of Ukraine, as well as "crosses of military merits" and orders.
The Kursk operation began on August 6, 2024, when the Ukrainian forces went on the offensive in the Kursk region of Russia. At the peak of the Armed Forces, up to 1300 square kilometers of the territory were monitored. However, the Russian army later concentrated significant forces in the region and partially restored its positions. Nevertheless, according to the Ukrainian side, as of early January, Russia has lost about 40,000 soldiers.
