Taiwan warns of 'act of war'

The situation around Taiwan continues to remain tense, after the government islands announced that any blockade from China would be regarded as an "act of war". This statement was made after the recent military maneuvers of China in the vicinity of Taiwan, which caused concern among the residents of the island and the international community.

Taiwan's blockade from China is an "act of war", said the Minister of Defense Taiwan Wellington on Wednesday, after Beijing was working out the same scenario during his latest military exercises around the island.

For the CMU, the Blockade could be considered a "act of war" by definition of the UN, since the Chinese army will have to completely ban the event of ships and aircraft on Taiwan.

The Chinese Republic (Taiwan) is a territory that has been managed autonomously since 1949, and which Beijin views as a rebellious province.

Taiwan's statements were made nine days after China spent a new wave of military maneuvers in the vicinity of the island, during which the China's army imitated the blockade of ports and other key areas of the island.

During these exercises, China used a record 153 aircraft, including fighter jets, helicopters and drones, and also used its coastal protection to the Taiwan's main island.
