Typhoon Usagi, who reached the northeast coast of the Philippines, struck a powerful blow to the province of Kagayan on Luson Island. The maximum wind speed reached 49 m/s and gusts up to 66 m/s. The showers that accompany the typhoon have created a high risk of soil landslides, and the height of storm waves in coastal areas can reach three meters.
The day before the arrival of the element, the authorities evacuated more than 20,000 residents, providing their safety and minimizing the risk of the victims. Meteorologists are forecasts, the typhoon will continue traffic in the northwestern direction and can reach Taiwan.
Usagi has become a fifth typhoon that has passed over the Philippines over the last three weeks. Previously, the Typhoons of Torraji and Doxuri hit the islands, which caused floods and landslides, taking away the lives of more than 25 people. The government continues to monitor the development of the situation and is ready for additional security measures to protect the population.
