In Ukraine, since April 1, 2025, the electricity tariff will remain at the level of UAH 4.32 per kWh, and it is not planned to be changed by at least the end of the year. This is confirmed by the sources in the government, which indicate that the issues of tariffs are not currently a priority and may be considered after the war or next year.
The cost of electricity was fixed by Government Resolution No. 632 of May 31, 2024 by the end of April 2025. Therefore, since May 1, the government must either review the cost of electricity or extend the resolution for another year. High -ranking government representatives emphasize that there are no critical changes that could affect the cost of electricity in the near future.
At the same time, as of May 1, 2025, a special electricity tariff for consumers with electrical heating is abolished. Previously, they paid UAH 2.64 per kWh for up to 2000 kWh per month, and for exceeding this limit - UAH 4.32 per kWh . Now for all categories of population there will be a single tariff - UAH 4.32 per kWh .
These changes are reflected in the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 37 of January 17, 2025, which updated the procedure for applying a fixed price for electricity for household consumers with electric heating. In the period from October 1 to April 30 inclusive tariffs were as follows:
- For consumption up to 2000 kWh inclusive - UAH 2.64 per kWh .
- For consumption over 2000 kWh - UAH 4.32 per kWh .
Thus, consumers who use electric heating will encounter an increase in electricity costs. This solution is part of the gradual liberalization of the electricity market and the abandonment of subsidized tariffs for certain categories of consumers.
The final decision on electricity tariffs since May 2025 should be approved in the near future.
