In 2024, Ukrainians continued to actively buy new cars, but the trends on the car market were changing significantly. Despite the fact that more than 80% of new cars are equipped with internal combustion engines (ICE), the proportion of gasoline models is significantly reduced and the popularity of hybrid and electric vehicles is increasing.
According to the Ukravtoprom Association, almost 70,000 new cars were sold in Ukraine in 2024. Among them were models with ICE, but the proportion of gasoline cars fell sharply: from 47% in 2023 to 40% in 2024. This indicates a gradual change in the preferences among Ukrainian drivers, because gasoline models are no longer absolute market leaders. While demand for gasoline cars has decreased, diesel models have gained popularity. The share of diesel cars increased from 22.8% to 25.6%. Renault Duster has become a leader in the diesel car market - this model is very popular with Ukrainian drivers. In addition to diesel models, demand for hybrids has increased significantly. In 2024, the proportion of hybrid cars increased from 17.7% to 19.5%. The leader among hybrids is the Toyota RAV4, which is in high demand due to its cost -effectiveness and environmental characteristics. Another important trend is the growing demand for electric cars. In 2024, the share of electric trucks in the Ukrainian market was 14.5%, which is 2.5% more than in 2023. The most popular electric vehicle was Volkswagen ID.4, which won the hearts of Ukrainian drivers due to its productivity and accessibility. Despite the growing popularity of other types of cars, the proportion of new cars with HBO remained negligible - only 1%. The technology of gas installations on cars in Ukraine is still not widespread.
In 2024, Ukrainian motorists chose a variety of models, including: gasoline cars: Mazda CX-5-a leader among gasoline models, which continues to be in demand due to its reliability and comfort. Diesel cars: Renault Duster - a model that occupies leading positions among diesel cars due to its versatility and patency. Hybrids: Toyota RAV4 - the popularity of this hybrid continues to grow due to low fuel and environmental friendliness. Electric vehicles: Volkswagen ID.4 - an electric car that has become a symbol of a new era of the automotive market in Ukraine. Hyundai Tucson Hyundai is a car with gas -cylinder car leader.
The Ukrainian market of new cars continues to be transformed. Gasoline cars are gradually losing their popularity, giving place diesel, hybrid and, more and more, electric models. Demand for electric cars is increasing, and it is likely that in the coming years, this trend will only intensify. However, the market still retains a considerable proportion of cars with ICE, which indicates a slow but stable transition to new technologies.
