The Parliament of Georgia will not invite ambassadors to the first session

Georgia Parliament will not invite accredited diplomats to the first session of the new warehouse, which will take place on November 25. This decision has caused discussion in the context of the political situation in the country, in particular after numerous protests that require new elections.

The Speaker of the Georgia Parliament Papuasvili's Parliament explained that the lack of invitations for foreign ambassadors is due to the fact that the opening of the session should be a holiday for the Georgian people. He noted that the participation of diplomats is not important because "it is a matter of the state", and the session itself should mark only the will and interests of the Georgian people.

"This is the holiday of the Georgian people, and only the Georgian people should celebrate the first session of their parliament," Papuasvili said, emphasizing that the first issue on the agenda would be to recognize the powers of the newly elected parliament.

The first session will be opened by the oldest deputy of Parliament, Lado Kahadze.

This decision takes place against the background of long protests in Georgia, where the opposition forces do not recognize the results of the parliamentary elections that took place in late October. The opposition declares numerous falsifications in the elections and requires new votes.

This situation in Georgia indicates an exacerbation of the political crisis, in which even parliamentary measures are the subject of acute disputes and confrontations.
