US President Donald Trump has announced the planned telephone talks with the Russian leader Vladimir Putin, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky and representatives of NATO member states. The American leader wrote this on the social network Truth Social on Saturday, May 17.
According to Trump, the first conversation with Putin will be the first to be scheduled for Monday at 10:00 local time (17:00 in Kiev). Among the main topics are the termination of war in Ukraine and trade relations between countries.
“On Monday, at 10:00 am, I will talk on the phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The topics of the conversation will be the cessation of a bloody bath, which kills an average of more than 5,000 Russian and Ukrainian soldiers weekly and trade, ”Trump said.
After that, the US President plans to contact Vladimir Zelensky, and then - to negotiate with NATO representatives.
“Then I will talk to the President of Ukraine Zelensky, and then, with him, with various NATO members. I hope that this day will be productive, there will be a truce, and this very cruel war, which never has to happen, will finally end, ”Trump summed up.
