US President Donald Trump met with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky at the Hague Summit in June 25. The conversation, according to the American leader, was in a positive way and did not apply to specific arrangements for the termination of the war.
"No, no, I just wanted to know how he was doing. He was very pleasant, in fact. Sometimes we had little controversy. He was very pleasant. I think he would like it (war - ed.) It was over.
The politician also confirmed that he plans to talk to Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to Trump, he wants to check if there is a real chance to end the war.
"I will see if we can finish it," the President said, adding that he considers the situation between Russia and Ukraine "horrible", because "people die in large numbers."
Trump also mentioned the possibility of additional supplies of missiles for Patriot anti-aircraft missile complexes, which are needed by Ukrainian air defense forces. At the same time, he stressed that such missiles are "very difficult to get".
"They (Ukrainians - ed.) Really want to get missiles for Patriot. We will see if we can give them. You know, they are very difficult to get. They are needed and we have supplied them Israel, and they are very effective - 100% effective," Trump emphasized.
