US President Donald Trump has announced an agreement between India and Pakistan to cease fire. According to him, the agreements were reached as a result of night negotiations through the United States.
He wrote about it on May 10 in his statement on the social network X (former Twitter).
“After a long night in the mediation of the United States, I am glad to report that India and Pakistan agreed to a full and immediate ceasefire. I congratulate both countries that they have shown common sense and great mind. Thank you for your attention to this issue! ” Said Trump.
Currently, official representatives of India and Pakistan have not publicly commented on the statement of the American leader. The details of the arrangements, as well as the mechanisms for monitoring the observance of the truce are still unknown.
It should be noted that the relations between India and Pakistan remain tense for decades, in particular, through the disputed region of Kashmir, which has repeatedly become a center of armed conflict. The United States in peaceful conflict settlement can be a significant step in reducing tensions in the region.
