At a tripartite meeting in Paris, which was attended by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and French President Emmanuel Macron, Donald Trump, elected 47th US President, expressed concern for war in Ukraine. In his message on the social network Truth Social, he emphasized the importance of the immediate ceasefire and the beginning of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.
Trump drew attention to significant human losses: according to him, Ukraine has lost 400,000 soldiers and even more civilians, which is unacceptable for any state. "Too many lives are lost, too many families are destroyed," he said. In his post, Trump also noted that Russia suffered severe losses: about 600,000 Russian soldiers were killed or injured. He added that Russia and Iran are now in a weakened state through the wars that are leading, while Ukraine is on the verge of a disaster.
Trump noted that the conflict in Ukraine has the potential to develop into something "much more and much worse." He also pointed to the geopolitical situation: Syria remained without Russia's support, and Iran faces the pressure of Israel. The US expansion believes that the world needs decisive steps to resolve the conflict, including China's assistance in the negotiation process. "The world is waiting for action. I know Vladimir [Putin] well, and it is time to act," Trump said.
Donald Trump believes that both Zelensky and Ukrainian society seek to end the war and restore peace. "This madness must end," he summed up. His proposal is to immediately start negotiations with the participation of international mediators, which may be a chance to avoid protracted conflict with global consequences.
