Trump demands cleansing Washington from homeless

US President Donald Trump appealed to the mayor of Washington Muriel Boser demanding to clear the streets of the capital from the homeless and their tents. Trump stressed that the Colombia County "should become clean and safe." This has become part of his homeless program, which, in his opinion, should make the city more attractive and comfortable for residents and tourists.

"We have informed the mayor of Washington that she should remove all the unattractive camps of the homeless in the city, including those near the State Department and at the White House," Trump said.

The President also threatened that if the Bosher is not taking the necessary steps, "we will be forced to do so for her." This creates a new tension between the federal government and the Washington city government, where the problem of homelessness is becoming more acute.

According to Bloomberg, at the end of 2024 a record level of homelessness was recorded in the United States, the growth of which is observed for the first time in 20 years. The causes of this phenomenon were high rental rates, lack of available housing and large streams of migrants looking for asylum at the border with Mexico.
