US President Donald Trump has signed a decree prohibiting the entry into the United States to citizens of 12 countries and imposing restrictions for residents of seven more countries. About it reports CNN with reference to sources in the administration.
The list of countries whose citizens are completely forbidden to enter the United States include: Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, the Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen.
As it is noted, the ban is substantiated by "risks for national security".
At the same time, partial restrictions will apply to citizens of seven more countries: Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Turkmenistan and Venezuela. The specific details of the restrictions for these countries are not disclosed.
The decree provides for exceptions for the legal permanent residents of the United States, the owners of real visas, certain types of visas and persons whose entrance corresponds to the national interests of the country.
According to the White House Representative, the President made the final decision after a recent anti -Semitic attack in Colorado. Although this issue was discussed earlier, this incident became a catalyst for signing the document.
