Upon arrival of the first F-16 Block 70 fighter from the United States to Bulgaria, the military found a technical deviation in the work of one of the systems. This was reported by the Commander of the Air Force of Bulgaria Nikolai Rusev, the Ministry of Defense of the country reports.
According to Ruseov, it is not a serious malfunction. The detected deviation does not call into question the technical serviceability of the aircraft, but it needs to be eliminated.
"While the aircraft is undergoing a technical inspection, this deviation will be eliminated so that in the future the fighter can pass all the necessary flight tests," he said.
Both the US company Lockheed Martin and the US Air Force, which work together with the Bulgarian military to prepare the aircraft for full arms, are involved in the elimination.
The Defense Ministry added that several more F-16 aircraft are expected to arrive in the near future, and the process of commissioning will be greatly simplified due to the experience already gained.
