There are no restrictions on Russian gas in the next package of anti-Russian sanctions

The 13th package of anti-Russian sanctions of the European Union did not affect Russian gas, since the leaders of the EU countries could not agree on the issue.

This was reported by the European Commissioner for Energy Simson during a press conference in Baku.

"In the European Union, to impose sanctions, one needs unanimity. Everyone should support the proposal. This has become the reason why there are still no sanctions against Russian gas," Ms. Simson said.

According to her, sanctions should send a clear signal to those who deserve them and do harm to those against whom they are directed and not to those who introduce them.

The frame of Simson reminded that the European Union intends to abandon Russian gas by 2027.
