In India, Adani Green Energy Limited (Agel) has started construction of the world's largest solar and wind power plant in Gujarat, which exceeds Paris five times and is about 518 square kilometers.
This station is located in the salt desert, which is unsuitable for another activity, near the border with Pakistan.
After construction is completed, the station will be able to provide energy of 16 million families, which is equivalent to the population of Switzerland.
It is planned that this project will be implemented within five years at a cost of approximately $ 20 billion. The company stressed that about 30 GW of energy is expected.
"There is such a large region, such an unloaded region, there is no wild nature, no vegetation, there is no housing. There is no better alternative to the use of this land," said AGEL Sagar Adani Director.
Successful commissioning of this power plant will be crucial for achieving the climatic and environmental goals of India, since the country is now extremely dependent on coal for electricity production.
The India government has set the target to reach 500 GW of electricity production using renewable sources by 2030. Agel, which is the largest renewable energy company in the country, plans to provide at least 9% of this capacity, of which almost 30 GW will be produced in Khavda Park in Gujarat.
