The Kremlin has stated "some progress" to end the war in Ukraine. This was reported by the Russian President Dmitry Peskov spokesman during a briefing on Friday, April 18.
According to Peskov, the Russian side already captures certain experiences, which, in their opinion, may indicate a shift in the direction of resolving the conflict. At the same time, he noted that there are many more difficult issues that need discussion.
"We believe that some progress can be said," the Kremlin spokesman said. In this context, he mentioned a temporary moratorium on strikes on the objects of energy infrastructure of Ukraine as an example of "structural steps".
Peskov also commented on the United States' statements for their possible refusal to participate in the peace process, unless the results are achieved. He answered that such questions should be addressed directly by Washington.
Earlier, US officials have repeatedly emphasized that their involvement in conflict resolving will depend on the parties' readiness to real steps on the way to peace. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian authorities have repeatedly emphasized that any negotiations are possible only on the conditions of complete restoration of Ukraine's territorial integrity.
