The next round of negotiations between Ukraine, the United States, the United Kingdom, France and Germany should take place in London, where the parties will discuss a potential agreement with Russia to end the war. The participants of the negotiations, according to Bloomberg, consider the possibility of freezing the front line in Ukraine with certain conditions on sanctions and territorial issues.
One of the key negotiation points may be the US proposal to mitigate sanctions against Russia and to recognize Moscow's "control" over Crimea. This initiative will actually mean that Russia will retain control of the territories that its troops occupy in the east and south of Ukraine, that the front line will remain frozen currently.
This proposal has provoked some contradictions as it may be perceived as partial recognition of Russia's territorial achievements. At the same time, the issue of Ukraine's accession to NATO will be removed from the agenda, which gives a chance to find a compromise, but any agreement should include providing security guarantees for Kiev.
Negotiations should be a continuation of meetings in Paris last week, where the United States shared their proposals for a peaceful process. The American side will be represented by the Secretary of State Marco Rubio, as well as the US Presidential Special Messengers Steve Witcoff and Kit Kellog.
Foreign ministers and national security advisers will join the negotiations. This meeting is expected to be an important step to formulating conditions that could bring the end of the war in Ukraine.
