An earthquake was recorded in North Korea near a nuclear test site

Not far from the North Korean nuclear landfill of Pungery, located in the northern province of Hamgion, January 11, a light earthquake took place. About it reports Yonhap with reference to the State Meteorological Agency of South Korea.

The seismic motion of magnitude 2.4 was recorded approximately 41 kilometers northwest of Kilchzh. The epicenter is located at a depth of 20 km.

Information about whether this earthquake was the result of any test at the nuclear landfill. However, the agency notes that it can be caused by natural causes.
