Poland has found a coordinated misinformation campaign on elections

The Polish Viceremier-Minister of Digital Technologies Krzysztof Gavkovsky reported the detection of an organized misinformation campaign aimed at discrediting the upcoming presidential elections in the country. Of particular concern is the fact that false messages are spread mainly in English, and malefactors seek themselves as reputable world media, including CNN.

Gavkovsky shared this information on his page on the social network X, emphasizing that the situation needs special attention. He noted that recent days in the international information space have appeared reports concerning possible obstacles in the election process in Poland. These publications looked like news on behalf of well-known media brands, which was not really true.

"In recent days, we notice misinformation in the English -language infosphere on the upcoming presidential election in Poland. The message is, in particular, the possible obstruction in the election process, the authors are issued for CNN," Gavkovsky wrote.

The Polish misinformation center (NASK) actively monitors the situation and takes measures to identify and counteract fake messages. The experts of the Center confirmed that the scale of the campaign is considerable and has the signs of coordinated actions in order to destabilize the election process.

In order to combat the spread of misinformation, Gavkovsky urged citizens to media literacy and critical attitude to the information that circulates on the network. He also emphasized the importance of verifying sources of information, not spreading unverified materials and reporting cases of misinformation to NASK.

"Check sources of information, do not distribute materials from unverified sources and report NASK about cases of misinformation," Viceremier said.
